What is total shoulder replacement?
- Total shoulder replacement or total shoulder arthroplasty is the surgery done to remove the damaged areas of the shoulder joint and replace them with artificial components called prostheses, to relieve pain and restore the motion of the affected region. This surgery is commonly performed to treat patients with end-stage arthritis of the shoulder with intact muscular function.
