What is Reverse Shoulder replacement?

  • Sometimes with prolonged shoulder pain and arthritis, the muscles around the shoulder joint (Rotator Cuff muscles) are also damaged.  Reverse shoulder replacement is the surgery done to remove the damaged areas of the shoulder joint and replace them with artificial components called prostheses. This is done to relieve pain and restore the motion of the affected shoulder joint such that the damaged muscle function is tackled with a special biomechanical construct of the prostheses.
